Dear John and Betty,

We were so pleased to have the announcement of the birth of Emily Frances. We hope to come see her as soon as Betty returns home and feel like having visitors again. Meanwhile, we are mailing a small present to welcome the little newcomer.
Good wishes for a long and happy life for new baby.
